The International Symposium (INTSYM) 2025 successfully geared up recently to unite academics, researchers, and thought-leaders from a wide array of disciplines around the world. This year’s symposium promised to foster rich exchanges across fields such as technology, management, social sciences, environmental studies, and more.

INTSYM 2025 aimed to be a platform where ideas cross-pollinate: scholars in one domain may spark new perspectives in another. The organizers highlighted that the ongoing complexity of global challenges, ranging from climate change to digital transformation, demands interdisciplinary approaches.

The event included five sub-themes; sustainable development, technological advances, social and cultural impacts, interdisciplinary approaches, education and capacity building and over 100 research papers were submitted to the symposium, each belonging to one of these five sub-themes.

Key features of the event included plenary lectures by eminent speakers, concurrent sessions and panel discussions across thematic tracks, workshops and tutorials focused on emerging methods, tools, and frameworks for interdisciplinary research, and networking forums and poster sessions, giving emerging scholars, especially students and early-career researchers, a chance to showcase their work and build lasting collaborations.

Management and participants were Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Culture Prof Dr M M Fazil; Dean of the Faculty of Management and Commerce Prof Dr A M M Mustafa; Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof Dr U L Abdul Majeed; Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof Dr H M M Naleer, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language Prof Dr A M Rasik, professors, heads of departments, Registrar M I Nauber.

In previous years, INTSYM has drawn participants from across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond. For 2025, organizers anticipated even broader participation, with virtual and hybrid access enabling inclusion despite geographical constraints.
