ICBS Brings University of the West of Scotland DBA to Sri Lanka

Imperial College of Business Studies partners with the University of the West of Scotland to launch Sri Lanka’s first British DBA programme.

Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) has partnered with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) to launch Sri Lanka’s first British Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme. The launch marks a new milestone in the country’s higher education sector.

The DBA is designed for senior professionals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, academics and public sector executives. The programme combines advanced research with practical business application, equipping candidates to address organisational challenges and influence policy.

UWS awards the doctoral qualification. Imperial College of Business Studies delivers the programme in Sri Lanka, giving professionals access to internationally benchmarked academic standards without leaving the country.

The partnership between ICBS and UWS extends an existing relationship between the two institutions. Both partners aim to expand access to internationally recognised higher education and build a pipeline of research-driven business leaders in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the launch, Pravinth Rajaratnam, Director – Academic of Imperial College of Business Studies, said:

“The launch of Sri Lanka’s first British Doctor of Business Administration programme reflects our commitment to providing world-class doctoral education that develops research-driven leaders capable of creating meaningful impact for businesses, industries and society.

Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) was established in 1985. The college offers business education in partnership with international institutions, with a focus on critical thinking, practical expertise and ethical leadership.
