Warwick University Postgraduate Research Scholarships

The University of Warwick, UK, offers a range of Postgraduate Research (PGR) Scholarships for students pursuing advanced degrees such as PhD, MPhil/PhD, and EngD. These scholarships are designed to support talented researchers from around the world, including Sri Lanka, in pursuing high-quality research in a variety of academic disciplines.

The scholarships aim to cover tuition fees and provide a stipend for living expenses, allowing students to focus fully on their research projects. While most scholarships are open to students of any nationality, some schemes may have specific criteria based on subject area or funding source.

Scholarship Offer

All scholarships include:

  • Full payment of your academic fees.

  • A maintenance stipend to support your living costs, please refer to each scheme for details of stipend value.

  • The opportunity to study either full-time (100%) or part-time (60%), dependant on your visa status.

  • Up to 40 days annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time PGRs).

  • Personal and professional development opportunities designed to enhance your postgraduate research experience and outcomes.

Eligibility

All applicants must:

1. Apply for a Postgraduate Research Course at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2026. Eligible courses include:

  • PhD

  • MPhil/PhD

  • EngD

  • Entering the PhD stage of an MRes+PhD

2. Start in academic year 2026/27- scholarships cannot be deferred to a later academic year.

3. Not be a current Postgraduate Research student unless a specific scheme explicitly allow it.

4. Unless otherwise stated, be from any discipline.

5. Unless otherwise stated, be of any nationality or fee status.

  • Course Applications – 8 December 2025 16:59 (GMT)

  • Scholarship Applications – 11 December 2025 16:59 (GMT)

How to Apply

1. Read the Applicant Guidance Notes.

2. Submit your course application by the course application deadline.

3. Receive an automated e-mail with a 7 digit applicant ID number. (Allow it at least 48 hours for this to arrive.)

4. Register your ITS applicant account. (Note that the Doctoral College cannot help with issuing of ID numbers.)

5. Submit your scholarship application (opening 15 October 2025) and any required supporting documents by the scholarship application deadline.

6. Results of the Scholarships will be communicated by email by the start of 23 February 2026.
