Shaping Safer Roads: Student Traffic Wardens Take the Lead in Nugegoda

A Traffic Wardens Workshop, organized by the Sri Lanka Police, was successfully held with the participation of student traffic wardens from schools in the Nugegoda Police Division. The programme, hosted at Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, featured both training sessions and live demonstrations in the city, showcasing the contrast between unsafe road behavior and the correct practices needed to prevent accidents.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Manoj Ranagala, Director of the Traffic Control and Road Safety Division, together with Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Mangala Dehideniya. It was organized by the Mirihana Police Station, with the presence of its HQI, Mr. Dushmantha Liyanage.

Traffic Police officials staged impactful demonstrations on road safety practices, providing students with both valuable knowledge and hands-on experience. The initiative offered a meaningful platform for young wardens to embrace responsibility and actively contribute to shaping a safer road culture in Nugegoda.
