National University of Singapore Hosts PhD Scholarship Workshop in Colombo
The Education Ministry, in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), organised a special workshop in Colombo on Friday for candidates shortlisted for the prestigious NUS PhD scholarships.
A total of 41 nominees attended the session, which provided them with valuable insights into the upcoming doctoral programmes. The workshop served as a platform for participants to engage directly with NUS professors, receive guidance on developing compelling research proposals, and establish connections with potential supervisors for their future studies.
Eight professors from NUS took part in the event, held in preparation for the PhD scholarship programme for the 2026 academic year.
This initiative follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Education Ministry and NUS in May 2025, aimed at enhancing educational cooperation, academic collaboration, and research partnerships between the two countries.
