Wayamba University to Host Research Congress on November 7

The Wayamba University Research Congress (WURC) 2025 is scheduled to take place on November 7.

The annual congress serves as a platform for academics, administrative staff, and postgraduate students to present and discuss their research findings.

According to the university, the main objective of WURC 2025 is to promote knowledge sharing and encourage dialogue on diverse research outcomes. “This inclusive event brings together researchers from multiple disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and reflecting the university’s commitment to research excellence,” the university said.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Research, Innovation and Sustainability: Green Solutions for a Circular Economy,” underscores the importance of sustainable and innovative approaches in modern research.

Marking its 10th edition, the event is organized by the Senate Research and Higher Degrees Committee (SRHDC) of the university.

Research presentations will be held across several parallel technical sessions covering areas such as agriculture and plantation management, applied sciences, business studies and finance, livestock, fisheries and nutrition, medicine, and technology.

The congress will also feature the annual Wayamba University Research Award (WURA) ceremony, recognizing the outstanding scientific contributions of the university’s staff.
