UCL Launches Pioneering Global Hotel Management Degree to Empower Sri Lanka’s Tourism Future

Universal College Lanka (UCL), Sri Lanka’s premier transnational higher education provider, is stepping boldly into the global spotlight with the official launch of the Bachelor of Business International Hotel and Resort Management degree programme, in partnership with Australia’s esteemed Torrens University and the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS), ranked Australia’s No. 1 hospitality school (QS World University Rankings 2022-23).


Set against the luxurious backdrop of Cinnamon Life City of Dreams, the launch event will be held on 31st July 2025at the Cumulus Ballroom. The event will be graced by Ms. Lalita Kapur, Australian Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Laura Castro, Regional Manager South Asia, as the Guest of Honour.


This 1+2 global pathway degree offers students the opportunity to study the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Hospitality Management at UCL Sri Lanka in their first year, before seamlessly transferring to Torrens University Australia to complete the final two years of the bachelor’s degree across two stunning locations: the scenic Blue Mountains and vibrant Sydney.


Designed for aspiring global hospitality leaders, the programme offers a seamless international transfer pathway, significant cost savings, immersive hands on training, and invaluable global industry exposure. With an emphasis on real-world learning and a 100% coursework based assessment model, students are empowered to thrive in dynamic hospitality environments both locally and internationally.
