The newly appointed National Youth Association members, who will be chosen by the National Youth Services Council, will participate in a special program hosted by the Parliamentary Caucus for Youth on August 19 in honour of International Youth Day.
The Caucus Chair stated that after a 30-year break, members are being appointed to the National Youth Association under the National Youth Services Council. As part of the commemoration of International Youth Day 2025, which comes on August 12, the program was designed to honor the recently appointed National Youth Association members.
The Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Eranga Gunasekara, presided over the Parliamentary Caucus for Youth meeting last week, where this decision was taken.
To create the caucus’s vision and purpose statement, a committee made up of Caucus members was also appointed.
