St. Joseph’s College in Colombo 10 is one of the top schools in Sri Lanka known for its excellence in education, sports, and other activities. Recently, the school’s under-20 basketball team won the Sri Lanka Schools Division A Championship. They defeated St. Peter’s College in a thrilling game held at Darley Road and were declared tournament champions by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association, which is part of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation.

The Josephians have been dominating basketball since 2001, winning several championships at the provincial and national levels. They also recently won the Under-20 Zonal Basketball Tournament for Colombo North. This success reflects their commitment to excellence and pride in their school.

In the quarter-finals, St. Joseph’s College beat Ananda College 63-34 and then went on to defeat Wesley College 94-57 in the semi-final.

The team’s outstanding players were recognized for their contributions. Methika Jayasinghe was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, and Abhaya Gajamange received the Best Defensive Player award.

Leading the team was Captain Maneth Perera, supported by Vice-Captain Kavin De Almeida.
