International University Foundation in Business – ACBT

In order to prepare students for university-level studies in business-related subjects, the International University Foundation in Business Management at ACBT aims to give them a solid academic foundation in business principles and methods. For students who want to enroll in undergraduate programs at globally renowned universities but might not be able to meet the direct entry standards, this program is ideal.

To make sure students are ready for their next academic adventure, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on academic skills, critical thinking, and important business management concepts. It serves as a road to a number of bachelor’s degrees in business and management disciplines.

English Language Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency with IELTS 5.5 overall with no band less than IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

  • GCE ‘O’ Level (Cambridge /EdExcel /Sri Lanka) – C

  • GCE ‘A’ Level (Sri Lanka ) – C

  • IELTS – 5.5 with no band less than 5.0

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 36 with no score less than 29 (except Nursing).

  • SPM English (1119) – C

  • TOEFL Internet (no band less than 15) – 60

  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge C1 Advanced – An overall minimum score of 176 with no individual band less than 169 equates to an IELTS overall of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)” – results are valid only for 2 years. And this does not apply to Nursing.

Note: English language requirements may vary according to immigration requirements. English requirements may be different in the case of ECU programs.

The course prepares you to pursue programs such as Diploma of Business Management, Bachelor of Commerce (ECU Sri Lanka) (Year 1) and Majors: Management, International Business, Marketing and upon successful completion of the International University Foundation in Business Management, students will gain foundational business Knowledge, enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills, build academic and research skills and develop effective communication skills.

Graduates who advance to and successfully finish a relevant degree program will be equipped for a variety of business-related jobs in different sectors and global marketplaces. They may succeed in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings thanks to the program’s provision of fundamental expertise in business strategy, management, marketing, and international operations. Graduates can confidently seek positions like Business Development Manager, International Business Consultant, Trade Manager, or Operations Manager if they possess excellent analytical, leadership, and communication abilities. Due to their diverse skill set, they are also highly sought-after by the government, global companies, and consulting firms, which leads to exciting roles like Foreign Affairs and Trade Officer, Marketing Manager, and Business Analyst.
