
Gateway College Colombo emerged victorious at the prestigious International Schools Under 14 Boys’ Tennis Championship 2025, hosted by The British School in Colombo. Demonstrating exceptional skill, teamwork, and consistency, the Gateway boys dominated the tournament, securing the championship title with a series of commanding victories.
In the group and knockout stages, Gateway defeated Lyceum International School Wattala (2–1), Colombo International School (CIS) (3–0), Gateway College Kandy (GCK) (3–0), and Stafford International School (SIS) (2–1). Each match showcased the team’s depth, discipline, and strong match play strategy.
The Under 14 Boys’ team featured a talented lineup of Navithu Rathnayake, Lometh Manthula, Ishrath Imran, Bithum Katulanda, Chathraka Hewapathirana and Raaidh Ali, all of whom played pivotal roles in Gateway’s success. Their impressive performance highlighted not just individual excellence but a strong sense of unity and resilience under pressure.
Gateway’s achievements extended beyond the boys’ team. The Under 14 and Under 12 Girls’ teams secured third place, reflecting the school’s well-rounded strength in tennis across all age groups and genders.
