An Insightful Beginning

The event commenced with an enlightening session by Dr. Amila Kultunga, CEO of IMC Education, who shared a comprehensive overview of medical education and the pivotal role IMC Education plays in shaping future doctors. Following this, Mr. Inthikab Zufer, COO of IMC Education, captivated the audience with invaluable insights into the advantages and opportunities of studying medicine abroad, particularly in prestigious institutions worldwide.

A Hands-On Experience Like No Other

Guiding the participants through this immersive experience were the event moderators, Dr. Burhanuddin Hamza (MD), Doctor of Medicine, Senior Medical Officer at NHSL, Colombo Chest Clinic and the National STD and AIDS Control Program. He was also the batch top in the year 2016 at Vitebsk State Medical University and one of the top 10 performers at the ERPM/ACT 16 examination in the year 2017 and Dr. Sasini Ranasinghe (MD), Doctor of Medicine, Medical Officer, Accident & Emergency at the Teaching Hospital Kalutara.

Both of them are proud graduates of Vitebsk State Medical University in the Republic of Belarus. Their passion and expertise created an engaging atmosphere as they led a simulated workshop covering essential medical procedures, including:

  • Basic Suturing: Participants learned the fundamental techniques of wound closure, an essential skill for any medical professional.
  • Blood Pressure Monitoring: A critical skill in patient assessment, attendees gained practical experience in measuring and interpreting blood pressure readings.
  • CPR Procedures: Perhaps the most vital skill of all, participants were trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), equipping them with life-saving knowledge.

This was all done in a simulated environment, ensuring participants gained hands-on experience in a controlled and safe setting.

All participants received a valid certificate of participation, adding value to their academic and professional journey.

This hands-on workshop not only provided invaluable practical exposure but also ignited the passion for medicine among aspiring doctors.
