DLC Sri Lanka and Bristol Institute Froge Partnership

Extending Programs to Aspiring Students for Enhanced Higher Education Standards

Distance Learning Centre (DLC) Sri Lanka and Bristol Institute of Business Management (BIBM) have forged a significant partnership to elevate the standards of higher education in Sri Lanka. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities on March 22, 2024, marks a pivotal moment in providing quality and accredited education services to students across the country.
DLC, a prominent State-Owned Enterprise under the purview of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, has been at the forefront of offering comprehensive training and capacity-building programs for both the public and private sectors. With its expertise in professional courses and exam-conducting facilities, DLC has established itself as a trusted institution in the education sector.

On the other hand, BIBM, a private education institute specializing in higher education, research, and knowledge dissemination, has been dedicated to offering internationally recognized programs to students. By affiliating with various local and international institutes, BIBM has been instrumental in shaping the academic landscape of Sri Lanka.

Representing the Distance Learning Centre, Mr. Rashath Ahamed, the CEO, took a momentous step by signing the MOU, solidifying the partnership. Witnessed by Mr. Chandana Bandara, the Finance and Admin Manager, and Mr. Aruna Buddhika, the IT & Technical Manager, and Ms. Dhanushka Dushanthi, Programme Coordinator, the ceremony bore witness to a significant milestone. On the Bristol Institute of Business Management side, the CEO, Associate Prof. Dr. Ali Najeeb, penned his name, underscoring the commitment to the partnership. Witnessed by Abdul Munnim, the CFO, and Dilshad Jiffry, the COO, the signing marked a new era of collaboration. Also present were Mr. Yadhava Prasath, Marketing Manager, and Ms. Mary Lanshiya, Senior Academic Administrator, whose roles in the partnership were pivotal for its success.

The Regional Partnership Model (RPM) established through this MoU aims to provide students of BIBM with access to quality education services facilitated by DLC. Under this collaboration, DLC will provide the curriculum for selected courses and necessary facilitation to promote and deliver these programs. Upon completion, students will receive certification and academic transcripts issued by DLC directly, ensuring the recognition and credibility of their qualifications.

Key objectives outlined in the MoU include:
• Provision of center approval by DLC for promoting and delivering selected programs at BIBM.
• Enhancement of the quality and recognition of students completing the selected courses.
• Sharing of information and knowledge related to private education services, focusing on areas such as Business, Finance, IT, and Psychology.

Through this partnership, DLC Sri Lanka and BIBM aim to contribute significantly to the educational development of Sri Lanka by offering accessible, accredited, and internationally recognized higher education opportunities to students across the country. This collaboration exemplifies the commitment of both institutions to excellence in education and student success.
