The proposal to enter into an agreement on educational cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam for the period 2024 – 2026 has received a Cabinet nod.
The government states that the need to further develop cooperation in the field of higher education between Sri Lanka and Vietnam has been identified due to which the two parties have agreed to implement the agreement reached during the period of 2017-2020 with amendments for the period of 2024-2026.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Education to enter into an agreement between Sri Lanka and Vietnam to be valid from 2024 to 2026.
The objective of the agreement is to exchange information and experience related to development and innovation in the field of higher education, promote bilateral cooperation programs between research institutions, exchange scholarships for undergraduate or postgraduate studies in fields agreed upon by both parties and exchange students/scholars between universities/research centres of the two countries.
