“CINEC is the only institute offering a degree programme in this capacity,” shared the Dean of CINEC’s Faculty of Humanities and Education, Professor Prasad Sethunga. “National level athletes are already following this programme, which is conducted during weekends to allow for greater flexibility, and creates a great opportunity and added qualification for a sportsperson and their future career.”

Students with demonstrated sporting experience and who have completed their G.C.E Advanced Level examinations are eligible to enrol for the programme, and a Diploma course is also being developed to bridge students who otherwise would not have met the existing entry requirement for the degree.

He shared that the value of technology and science is enhanced through the collaboration of science and the humanities, and that the skills learned through the humanities are an essential part of how development will be shaped in the coming days.
