Rs 600M gift from Nahil Wijesuriya to fund S. Thomas’ College IT building

Engineer and philanthropist Nahil Wijesuriya has donated Rs. 600 million to S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, for the construction of the school’s proposed IT building.

The contribution was made via the Old Trinitians Sports Club, Mr. Wijesuriya’s alma mater, and channelled through his Agnes Wijesuriya Foundation for Children and Elders.

In 2024, Mr. Wijesuriya donated Rs. 270 million to Bishop’s College, Colombo, for the construction of a new building for A-Level and O-Level students, aiming to improve the school’s infrastructure and educational resources.

In 2023, he contributed Rs. 1 billion to the Little Hearts Project at Lady Ridgeway Hospital to expedite the installation of an air conditioning system in the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex.
