The Third Chapter of Sri Lanka’s Most Thrilling Robotic Battle Arena
Lethal Bots 2025, the third installment of the iconic robotic battle competition, ignited the SLTC main premises in Padukka on the 15th of July with unmatched energy and innovation. Since its inception in 2022, the event has grown exponentially – and this year, it reached new heights, marking its most exciting edition yet.
With over 30 groups of participants and an audience of more than 200 spectators, Lethal Bots 2025 showcased a stunning display of engineering skill, strategic thinking, and raw robotic power. A larger and more advanced arena made way for fierce, action-packed battles, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the day.
Continuing a tradition started in its very first edition, this year’s event featured a dedicated robotics workshop for school students, designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of tech innovators.
The event was guided by a panel of esteemed academic mentors, including Dr. Migara Karunarathna (Lead Advisor and Dean – Faculty of Technology), Dr. Chamith Chandrarathna, Dr. Lasith Yasakethu, Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Dr. Udesh Oruthota, Dr. Achintha Madhusanka, Mr. Ashan Pathirana, and Mr. Lahiru Alahakoon, whose support was instrumental in the event’s success.
The event also received outstanding support from the organizing committee comprising SLTC students, led by Mr. Sadeepa Dilshan Ariyarathna, along with his dynamic team: Mr. Vidarshana Adhikari, Mr. Naveen Ranawana, Mr. Duhun Perera, and Mr. Sathyanga Gunathilaka. Their dedication, leadership, and teamwork ensured the smooth execution of the event and contributed significantly to its success. We are truly proud of our student committee for their exceptional efforts and commitment.
Lethal Bots has become a proud tradition at SLTC. Bringing together undergraduates, graduates, and school students from across the country, it continues to serve as a platform where technical expertise, innovation, and teamwork are celebrated.
