UCLan Graduation Ceremony heralded as best partner event of the year by University of Central Lancashire

The 3rd Graduation Ceremony of the University of Central Lancashire was successfully held recognising the excellent academic achievements of the graduates and the international standards of academic delivery at UCL

Universal College Lanka (UCL) was proud to host the Graduating Class of 2023 at a well-orchestrated ceremony at the Waters Edge. Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) of the University of Central Lancashire, Professor StJohn Crean graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Established in 1828, the University of Central Lancashire offers world-class British education through its exclusive partnership with UCL, the premier transnational higher education provider in Sri Lanka. The portfolio of programmes offered at UCL include BSc (Hons) Software Engineering, BA (Hons) International Business, BA (Hons) Business and Marketing, BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering and MSc Digital Marketing Communications.

Staff and students are committed to achieving the best outcomes from an excellent educational experience”, espoused Professor StJohn Crean, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) of the University of Central Lancashire.

Mr. Gihan Silva, CEO stated, “This year’s graduation ceremony is particularly significant, as we witness a remarkable 50% rise in the number of graduates, demonstrating the trust that you and your parents have placed in UCL. We are equally delighted to share that 70% of our graduates have achieved First Class Honours and Upper 2nd Class Honours, exemplifying the calibre of talent and commitment within our student body, and the exceptional quality of education provided by our esteemed faculty who have consistently achieved excellent academic outcomes”.

Dr. Harsha Alles was proud to note, “At UCL, we foster the growth of visionary leaders and innovators, offering a holistic learning experience. Our UCLan graduates are equipped not only with globally recognised qualifications but also with the essential skills, industry exposure, and a winning attitude necessary to make a meaningful impact”.

Dr. Dhananjay Kulkarni, Dean, congratulated the graduates for choosing UCL as their preferred higher education partner.

The graduands, parents, Directors, faculty, management, staff of UCL, along with the Ms. Sarah Priestley, International Partnerships Project Management of the University of Central Lancashire, enjoyed the glittering ceremony and fellowship that followed. Allrounder Heshan Karunarathne was adjudged as the Valedictorian for his exceptional academic achievement.
