SLIIT Degrees Gain Official Recognition from the Ministry

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has reached an important milestone in higher education, with several of its degree programmes now formally recognized by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. This recognition reinforces SLIIT’s standing as a premier institution that provides students with qualifications aligned to national and international standards.

This new recognition specifically covers the following honours degree programs offered by SLIIT:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Marketing Management

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Management Information Systems

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Business Management

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Quality Management

  • Bachelor of Science Honours in Data Science

  • Bachelor of Science Honours in Software Engineering

To be eligible for these degrees, students must successfully complete a minimum of 120 credits at Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) Level 6, while also meeting the university’s general entry requirements. This ensures that graduates are well-prepared with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

The Ministry’s decision is a significant step forward, giving students greater confidence in pursuing their studies at SLIIT. It also highlights the institute’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and industry relevance, strengthening its role in shaping the future workforce of Sri Lanka.
