All schools across the island resumed normal operations today (October 28) following a closure yesterday (October 27) due to inclement weather conditions, with the exception of examination centres affected by flooding and bad weather.
Speaking yesterday (October 27), Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Madhura Seneviratne stated that academic activities would restart nationwide today (October 28).
He noted that weather related disruptions, particularly severe flooding in the Sabaragamuwa region and Ratnapura District have impacted several examination centres.
He added that discussions were held with relevant officials to postpone G.C.E. Ordinary Level practical examinations at affected centres where necessary, ensuring no student is disadvantaged by the prevailing conditions. (Eduwire)
