It was undoubtedly an evening full of divinityon Sunday15thof December 2024 when the choristers of Convent of Our Lady of Victories Moratuwa sang their hearts out bringing to life the story of Christmas. They performed a remarkable event at the Christmas Carols Service held at the School Main Hall. It was based on the theme, “O Night Divine”, when the Saviour was born, being the light shining in the darkness and hope triumphing over despair.
The show began with an act of shepherds in the fields when the angels brought them the good news of the birth of the Messiah on a calm night. The place was filled with awe as the choristers entered and the live crib was formed.

His Lordship Rt.Rev.Dr. Maxwell Granville Silva, the auxiliary Bishop of Colombo graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and in His address he emphasized on the importance of sharing mentioning that true meaning of Christmas is experienced when it is shared with those in need. He invited to share the love of God with everyone bringing joy and happiness to all during this Holy season as God Himself gifted His only begotten Son to save mankind on the first Christmas. He congratulated the Principal, Rev. Sr. Chamila Fernando, the teachers and the choristers for organizing the event.
The choristers were trained by the Choir Director Mr. Harith Shihan Chamba. This enchanting carol service featured the soulful compositions of legendary maestros Pietro Mascagni, Leroy Anderson, and Jay Rouse. The choir sang harmoniously these musical masterpieces filling the air with the spirit of Christmas.
