On the occasion of Binara Poya Day, the 9th edition of the ‘Buddham Sharanam Gacchami’ exhibition was held by the High Commission of India in Colombo at the historic Sri Wijayasundararama Purana Viharaya, Hunupitiya. The event celebrated the enduring cultural and spiritual ties between India and Sri Lanka, with a special focus on the shared Buddhist heritage that continues to inspire both nations.
As part of the program, 500 ACK Jataka Tales comics were distributed among Dhamma school students, offering young learners an engaging way to explore timeless Buddhist stories and values while reflecting the ongoing commitment to nurturing cultural understanding and promoting Buddhist teachings among the next generation.
The initiative marks a pioneering step to strengthen the deep-rooted historical connections and shared commitment to preserving and promoting the Buddhist heritage linked in both Sri Lanka and India.
