Cambridge A/L Teacher Training Programme Begins with Inspiring Learning and Leadership

The first day of the Cambridge A/L Teacher Training Programme, held on 8th December, marked a significant step forward in strengthening academic excellence within our school community. The programme was conducted by Dr. Akash Raut, the Head Academic Advisor for South Asia at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, alongside Ms. Dilani Nanayakkara, Academic Advisor, and Ms. Dinuka Galagoda, Business Development Manager – Cambridge International Education.

The session brought together academic leaders, Cambridge representatives, and our dedicated teachers for a rich and comprehensive orientation into the Cambridge A-Level curriculum. The day featured inspiring addresses, expert-led training sessions, and collaborative learning activities designed to deepen understanding, enhance teaching competence, and foster meaningful professional growth.

Participants engaged in discussions on Cambridge’s approach to curriculum design, assessment standards, and pedagogical expectations, gaining valuable insights into best practices aligned with global education benchmarks. The facilitators also emphasized the importance of reflective teaching, student-centered learning, and continuous improvement.

Moments of appreciation throughout the programme highlighted the shared commitment of all stakeholders toward ensuring high-quality education. The collaborative atmosphere underscored a collective vision: to empower teachers so they, in turn, can inspire and guide students toward academic success.
