The Cabinet of Ministers has approved accepting a grant from the Government of China for the full requirement of 11.83 million metres of school uniform material for the year 2025.
According to the government, the grant will cover uniform material for school and Sunday school (Piriven) students.
The fabric was deemed suitable for the use of students after a sample sent by the Ministry of Education was examined by the Sri Lanka Textile and Apparel Institute (SLITA).
Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal presented by the Prime Minister, in her capacity as the Minister of Education, to accept the grant of the Chinese Government to supply school uniform material for the year 2025.
