Asia Summit 2026: Universities Forge the Next Frontier in Innovation and Global Leadership

Hong Kong, from 22 to 24 April 2026, the heart of Asia’s higher education community will converge at the THE Asia Universities Summit 2026, hosted in partnership with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This year’s summit marks a dual celebration, the institution’s 35th anniversary and a decade since it last welcomed the summit to its campus, setting the stage for renewed collaboration and visionary dialogue across the region.

Over the course of three days, delegates from around the world will engage in rigorous exploration of Asia’s expanding influence on global progress. The summit’s program is structured around three core pillars, innovation, impact, and influence, each designed to showcase how Asian universities are addressing some of the most complex challenges of the 21st century. Sessions will dive into cutting-edge research, entrepreneurial frameworks linking academia and industry, and emerging frameworks for ethical applications of AI and future technologies. A highlight of the event will be the live unveiling of the THE Asia University Rankings 2026, followed by an in-depth masterclass to analyse trends and spotlight leading institutions across the region. Similarly, the THE Awards Asia 2026 ceremony will celebrate exceptional leadership and institutional achievements, reaffirming Asia’s role in shaping the future of higher education.

Praveena Sivasankaran, Director of Impact Lab Clean Technology at Taylor’s University, shared:

“Attending this event has been an exceptional experience. The hospitality, venue arrangements, and overall comfort were truly remarkable. Every detail was thoughtfully planned and executed, and every aspect was meticulously considered, making the experience not only enriching but also highly enjoyable. I truly appreciate the effort put into curating such a well-organised and impactful event.”

The summit brings together an eclectic mix of higher education leaders, policymakers, and thought influencers, with over 100 speakers representing institutions from Singapore to Qatar and beyond. Their collective insight is expected to deepen understanding of how research ecosystems, cross-border partnerships, and visionary governance can accelerate both regional development and global standards.
