Pathways to Success 2026: Young Change-Makers Take the Leap in a Resounding Triumph

What began as a promise became a landmark reality. On Sunday, 7th June, at the stunning Marino Beach Colombo, Pathways to Success 2026 – Where Potential Meets Purpose unfolded exactly as its name intended: as a transformative launchpad for Sri Lanka’s next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

Organized by the Awakening Training Academy under its Corporate Outreach initiative, the event brought together over 220 high-potential participants from diverse backgrounds; undergraduates, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and career switchers; all united by a shared hunger for clarity, connection, and breakthrough.

From the first session to the final applause, on a conference which ran on time like a Swiss watch, the energy was unmistakable. This was not a passive conference but was an engineered leadership experience.

The day began with two powerhouse keynote sessions that set an electrifying tone. Abdul Qadir, Partner Lead for Microsoft South Asia, took the stage with Personal Branding for Career Success. Qadir demystified techniques on how young people can strategically build their reputation, communicate their value, and stand out in crowded job markets, without pretending to be someone they are not.He was followed by Jiffry Zulfer, founder and CEO of PickMe, who delivered a raw, unforgettable masterclass on entrepreneurship: No Shortcuts: The Hard Truth About Achieving Greatness. His message resonated deeply with every aspiring entrepreneur in the room with inquisitive questions aplenty. These two sessions alone left participants armed with actionable strategies and a renewed sense of purpose.

Following a networking lunch, the momentum didn’t dip. The organizers surprised the delegates with a lively, interactive quiz, a cleverly designed break that tested knowledge, sparked laughter, and brought the crowd closer together before the afternoon’s heaviest hitters.

Then came one of the most anticipated segments of the day: the high-level panel discussion Crossroads to Clarity: Lessons Before the Leap. Moderated by Ishfaaq Uvaim, the panel brought together four distinguished pioneers: Sandun Hapugoda – Group Country Manager, Mastercard, Thilini Wijesooriya – Mental wellbeing expert and trainer, Niroshan Nadarajah – District Director, Toastmasters International District 82, and the last-minute surprise inclusion who added flavor to the Panel discussion, Peter Kuruvita who needs little introduction. The dialogue was diverse and honest, packed with insights on resilience, communication, emotional wellbeing, and career courage, bringing in vastly varied perspectives from experts in their own fields who gave the delegates plenty and more.

Just when the audience thought they had seen it all, the legend himself took the stage. Muhammad Ali Shukri from Bahrain, the first and only Accredited Speaker in the Middle East awarded by Toastmasters International, and a Top Ten Speaker in the World at the 2006 World Championship of Public Speaking, delivered his signature session: You Are The One and Only. This was not a lecture. It was an experience. Shukri stripped away imposter syndrome, challenged limiting beliefs, and guided the delegates on a journey of self-discovery. His words, drawn from his book of the same title, left many in the audience visibly moved.

A triumph of this scale is never a solo act. The Awakening Training Academy was ably supported by a coalition of purpose, driven partners who believed in this vision. Pyramid Wilmar as the Platinum Sponsor, MIFZ International as the Silver Sponsor, Amana Bank as the Banking Partner, Barista as the Happiness Partner, Travel Fin Global as the Travel Partner, 100 Plus as the Beverage Partner, Insomnia and Neutrimed International (Pvt) Ltd as theBronze Sponsors, and Eduwire as the Media Partner.

As the event drew to a close with a heartfelt vote of thanks, one message echoed through the hall: Success is not a destination – it is a journey. The Awakening Training Academy has already begun planning future initiatives. If you missed this edition, or if you were there and want to go further, follow the Academy on their official social media channels as the next chapter is already being written.

Pathways to Success 2026 proved one thing beyond doubt: When potential meets purpose, leaders are not born, they are awakened.
