
The Cambridge Teaching Knowledge test (TKT) is an internationally recognized modular teaching certificate that assess specific areas of English Language Teaching. The qualifications, acknowledged as one of the prestigious awards worldwide, are accepted by Cambridge English (part of the University of Cambridge).
The program validates your foundational knowledge of English language teaching which is ideal for both experienced educators and those aspiring to enter the profession.
Successful completion of each Module will lead to an Award from Cambridge English.
Modules Offered (core 1–3) :
1. Language & Background to Language Teaching – Covers key concepts, terminology, and factors influencing English learning.
2. Lesson Planning & Resources – Focuses on planning lessons, assessments, and selecting effective teaching materials.
3. Managing the Teaching & Learning Process – Explores classroom roles, managing interaction, and instructional strategies
Assessment : Each module involves a 1-hour 20-minute multiple-choice test (80 questions).
Delivery Modes : Available in-person, blended, and distance learning. At GGS, classes run Saturdays from 8–11 am over 3 months, with each module taking one month.
Upon the successful completion of the program, students can demonstrate global teaching knowledge, aiding career advancement. This can strengthen credentials when applying for positions in Sri Lanka as well as abroad.
