UCL has established itself as a benchmark in higher education by collaborating with world-ranked universities such as Monash University Australia, University of Central Lancashire, UK, and Dalhousie University, Canada, to provide exciting transnational education opportunities for Sri Lankan students.

The launch event, attended by industry experts and prominent figures, showcased UCL’s commitment to delivering a well-rounded engineering education. The new Engineering degree programmes feature a balanced curriculum designed to meet industry needs, encompassing core engineering concepts, practical training, industrial internships, soft skills development, and international exposure.

In today’s technology-driven world, the demand for qualified engineers is on the rise, creating numerous employment opportunities both locally and internationally. UCL’s Engineering programmes not only equip students with essential technical skills but also offer transfer options to Australia and the UK, enhancing their global career prospects.

Dr. Nishan Dharmaweera, a leading figure in the engineering field and a consultant at UCL, is instrumental in shaping and leading the new programme. With extensive experience and a strong leadership background from one of the leading state-owned universities, Dr. Dharmaweera is poised to help UCL establish a robust and well-connected engineering team.

Mr. Maduranga Pillai has been appointed as the Programme Coordinator, serving as the liaison between the university and the UCL team. With over 50 dedicated educators and industry experts on board across all programmes, UCL is confident in its faculty’s ability to deliver engaging, student-centric instruction.
