
South Korean Ambassador, Miyon Lee meets the Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education, Sri Lanka in the hopes of strengthening Korean language and culture ties in Sri Lanka.
On June 24, Mrs. Miyon Lee, the South Korean ambassador met with Dr. Madhura Seneviratne, the deputy minister of education for higher education at the Ministry of Education, Isurupaya. The ambassador was warmly greeted by the deputy minister before they engaged in a discussion focused on enhancing bilateral relations between South Korea and Sri Lanka.
The conversation was centered on expanding access to higher education through universities, developing technical education exchange programs between the two countries, and securing the professional education sector to support Sri Lanka’s workforce. In a similar vein, establishing a Korean cultural center in Sri Lanka and expanding educational possibilities within the country were also given particular attention.
In addition, the possibility of introducing Korean language education in Sri Lankan schools and increasing its accessibility was also discussed.
