Kenneth of Lyceum Wattala Secures Triple Crown at South Asia Regional Championship

A rising badminton star, Kenneth Aruggoda of Lyceum International School, Wattala, has made history by securing Triple Crown at the 2025 South Asia Regional Badminton Championship. Held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from August 15 to 22, the event showcased the region’s top young talents.

Kenneth’s exceptional performance earned him titles in :

  • Mixed Team Champion

  • Boys’ Doubles Champion

  • Mixed Doubles Champion

Additionally, he emerged as the runner-up in the Under-17 Boys’ Singles,coming out on a fourth championship.

School officials commended Kenneth’s commitment, skills, and athletic prowess, stating that his victory serves as motivation for young athletes all throughout the country. It is anticipated that Kenneth’s outstanding achievement will improve Sri Lanka’s standing in the sport and inspire the upcoming generation of players to aim for global success.
