Two Sri Lankan Madrasa students recently represented Sri Lanka at the International Qur’an Competition in Libya.
Al-Hafiz Farshad from Kulliyyathul Imaam Shafiee Madrasa, Colombo, was set to compete in the Al-Quran Memorization and Tafsir category, while Al-Hafiz Sulaiman from Jamiathul Faththah Arabic College, Galhinna, would compete in the Al-Quran Memorization category.
They were chosen to represent Sri Lanka after emerging victorious at the island-wide competition organised by the Qurra Association of Sri Lanka(QASL) recently.
The QASL organised a special event in Colombo as well to felicitate both participants by presenting them travel visas and tickets ahead of their departure. The event was held under the patronage of QASL President Ash-Sheikh Qari Rifraz Razick Al Azhari. QASL Vice President Ash-Sheikh Qari Fawaz and Secretary Ash-Sheikh Qari Firnaz were also present.
Competitors from more than 65 countries participated in this year’s International Qur’an Competition in Libya.
