
The S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia school Karting team has participated in the Sodi World Series (SWS) 12-hour endurance 2025 championship in Dubai, securing 3rd place in the Newbie Category.
The Thomian Karting team, consisting of four members, was also awarded the Spirit of the Event Trophy.
The “SWS 12-hour endurance 2025” refers to Round 3 of the Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship, which took place on October 25-26, 2025.
“Pretty tough run for the whole team. But I am really proud of how we were able to handle the race. I would like to thank the College for letting us take part in the event and our parents for bringing us here,” said the Captain of the team, Ryan Gunawardana.
This marks the first time a Sri Lankan school team has participated in the international event, competing against professional teams from across the world.
