The 129th College Day Celebration, Creates History

St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, celebrated its 129th Annual College Day, at the Rev. Dr. Stanley Abeysekera Sports Complex cum Auditorium, amidst a large gathering recently.

The Annual College Day of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, has been a major event, honouring the Patron, St.Joseph, with a Holy Mass, Procession and Special Blessings, to invoke blessings and spiritually uplift the Josephians, young and old, Academic Staff, Administrative and Clerical Staff and Supportive Staff.

Reverend Father Rector and Principal of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, was the Chief Celebrant of the Holy Mass.

During the College Day Celebrations, the College’s unwavering commitment to spiritual, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities excellence, besides discipline and character formation, was recognised through the launch of “Josephian Vistas”, highlighting St. Joseph’s College’s vibrant intellectual life.

“Josephian Vistas”, is a unique Magazine, that has captured the major victories secured, in the above mentioned disciplines, by St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, the Hall of Fame Educational Institutes, in Sri Lanka, from 31st July 2019 to date and about the architect, who has been instrumental of the key milestones achieved besides transforming the College, to its present glory.

This special launch programme took place at the College Quadrangle with the participation of the Reverend Father Rector, Rev.Fr.Vice Rector, Priest Community, Deputy Principals, Assistant Prefects of Studies, Co-ordinators, Sectional Heads, Academic Staff, Administrative and Clerical Staff and young Josephians and it was a memorable event for all of them.

The inaugural edition of “Josephian Vistas” has come out with a novel and meaningful name and contains twenty pages and all the pages appear in full colour, which makes it unique and has a resplendent look.

Maruthai Ravindhiran, the Project Chairman, Editor-in-Chief and Creative designer, presented the first copy of the “Josephian Vistas” to the Chief Shepherd, Spiritual leader, Pedagogue, Mentor and the Eminent 14th Rector, par excellence, of St.Joseph’s College, Colombo 10.

Ravindhiran has entered in to the Josephian Record Book, by enriching the College history and enriching the Josephian heritage, through his valuable contributions as a versatile Editor-in- Chief,who has dramatically changed the landscape of the publications of the Blue and White Newsletters and the Blue and White Centenary and Millennium Magazine since 2000 and his recent creation, “Josephian Vistas “, is milestone in his editorial career as a humble servant of the Patron, St.Joseph.

Ravindhiran will be completing 25 Years as a Reputed Editor of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo10, within a few months’ time period”. The unwavering commitment, laborious and selfless work, devotion to duty, dedication, determination, passion, resilience and consistent efforts made by Reverend Father Rector and Principal of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, were recognised by the Josephina Fraternity and a special memento was presented to him by Maruthai Ravindhiran, the Editor-in-Chief and Media Advisor of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo10 and an issuance of “Personalised Stamp of the Chief Shepherd” took place, which was initiated and presented by Mr. Kasun Perera, a Parent of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10.
