Study MBBS in Malaysia – Apply to MCUM through IMC Education in Sri Lanka

Located in Malaka, Manipal University College, Malaysia (MUCM) offers a 5-year MBBS program
designed to meet a comprehensive medical education that balances rigorous academics with practical clinical experiences.

Overview :

  • Award : MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)

  • Intakes : April | October

  • Duration : 5 Years in Malaysia

  • Tuition Fee : 13,000 USD (Approx. semester fee)

Entry Criteria :

  • Direct Entry Local (Sri-Lankan) Advanced Level or London (Cambridge/Ed-excel) Advanced Level

  • Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or (Mathematics).
  • Grades BBB or above. (AAC, ABC are also accepted).

  • Through Foundation CPU Program (Canadian Pre-University Program) to be completed at IMC Education, Sri Lanka.

  • 80% for Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.

English Requirements :

  • IELTS – 5.5 / CEFR B1

  • TOEFL PBT – Score 410 – 413

  • TOEFL IBT – DScore 34

  • CAE (Cambridge English: Advance) – Score 160 / CEFR B2

  • CPE (Cambridge English Proficiency) – Score 180 / CEFR C1

  • PTE (Pearson Test of English) – Score 36

  • MUET (Malaysian University English Test) – Band 3

Note : Students aiming to apply for the ACT16/ERPM in Sri Lanka to obtain the registration on Sri Lanka Medical Council to practice medicine in Sri Lanka should fulfil the following requirements :

  • Local A/L: Minimum grades of C in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • London A/L: Minimum grades of C in Biology and Chemistry, and D in Physics

Scholarships :

MUCM also offers merit-based scholarships to outstanding students who complete any of the following scholarship structures :

  • Completion of Foundation in Science (FIS) – 10,000 USD

  • A/Level (B,B,B/A,B,C) – 15,000 USD

  • A/Level (A,B,B/A,A,B) – 20,000 USD

  • A/Level (A,A,A) – 25,000 USD

  • CE Scholarship (limited and awarded to high achievers considering their academic excellence and extracurricular achievements) – 45,000 USD

The MBBS programme is fully accredited by the Malaysian Joint Accreditation Committee and the Malaysian Medical Council as well as the following institutions :

  • World Health Organization (WHO) – Included in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED)

  • Sri-Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)

  • Australian Medical Council (Australia)

  • Malaysian Medical Council (MMC – Malaysia)
