The stage is set once again for Sri Lanka’s brightest minds to take on the world at the 2025 World Quizzing Championships (WQC), organized by the International Quizzing Association (IQA) the world’s premier global quiz organization.
Now in its 20th consecutive year in Colombo, the Sri Lanka chapter of the IQA is inviting local quiz enthusiasts to compete in this prestigious global event on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Royal College Union Skills Centre, Rajakeeya Mawatha, Colombo 07, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The WQC is a truly global event, attracting top quizzers from over 50 countries, including the United Kingdom, India, USA, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Ireland, and Scotland. According to Ruwan Senanayake, Sri Lanka’s official IQA representative, the competition presents an incredible opportunity for local participants to test their knowledge against the very best in the world.
The World Quizzing Championships consist of eight themed papers, distributed in two sets of four. Contestants are given 60 minutes per set to complete the papers. Subjects covered include:
Each year, the arrangement of subjects in each set is randomized by IQA to ensure fairness.
