Presidential Fund Programme Celebrates Academic Exellence

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to people-centred development at the ninth phase of the island-wide programme recognising GCE Advanced Level achievers, implemented by the Presidential Fund. The event was held on December 14 at Temple Trees.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister stated, “We are doing all this in order to develop our human resources and move forward as a nation. What we seek is to nurture a responsible human resource that loves and protects the environment, demonstrates leadership, possesses compassion and a sense of collectivity, and values democracy.”

The programme, which spans the entire island, continues to recognise and encourage academic excellence among students who have excelled at the GCE Advanced Level examinations.
