NOC Sri Lanka Opens Applications for Asian Games Youth Reporter Programme

Applications for the Asian Games Youth Reporter Program, which is part of the Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) “Asian Games for All” initiative, are now being accepted by the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka.

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was officially established on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations.

Through an engaging workshop led by a global specialist, this program provides young Sri Lankans with a special chance to sharpen their sports journalism skills. The workshop is conducted by an international facilitator on 7 September 2025, ahead of the Asian Games Fun Run for 20 shortlisted applicants (10 male and 10 female). With the major theme of promoting sports journalism and Asian Games through Asian Games History, NOC Sri Lanka will select 6 winners (3 male and 3 female) based on performance.

Winning exciting prizes, Winners will get the chance to be nominated from the South Asian Region to participate in the Asian Games Youth Reporter Project and join the OCA Reporting Team at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

Deadline to Apply : Saturday, 30 August 2025

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be of Sri Lankan citizenship

  • Age group: 16 – 35 years

  • Strong interest in sports journalism, media, and reporting

  • Effective English communication skills (spoken and written)

  • Commitment to promoting the values of excellence, respect and friendship

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae

  • A covering letter outlining interest and motivation

  • A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating reporting/journalism skills
