Griffith University, Queensland, Australia & Study Queensland, Queensland Government Bring Global Education Opportunities to Sri Lanka

A major Australian education delegation led by Griffith University, Queensland and Study Queensland, Queensland Government, is visiting Sri Lanka this weekend to engage with prospective students and academic partners. The event, facilitated by Spectrum Overseas Education Consultancy, will be held on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the Courtyard Hall, Cinnamon Grand Colombo, starting at 10:00 a.m. This initiative aims to highlight Queensland as one of the most attractive destinations for higher education, professional development, and long term career growth.

The forum, themed “Education in Queensland,” will focus on the wide-ranging academic, career, and lifestyle advantages available to Sri Lankan students choosing to pursue their studies in Australia’s Sunshine State. Representatives from Griffith University and Study Queensland will present insights into study programs, scholarship opportunities, and post-study work visa pathways. Griffith University ranked among the top 2% of universities worldwide is internationally recognized for its Medical School, Engineering programs, and highly reputed MBA offerings. The university is also offering 50% and 20% merit-based scholarships to outstanding students from Sri Lanka and the broader South Asian region.

Queensland remains one of Australia’s most promising destinations for education and long term settlement, thanks to its strong economy, student friendly environment, and diverse multicultural communities. The Griffith Queensland campus, located just 45 minutes from Brisbane, provides students with an ideal balance of academic excellence and lifestyle benefits. Students also have access to Griffith Village, a modern on campus accommodation facility designed to offer a safe, supportive, and community focused living experience.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Dinesh Premaratne, Chairman and Founder of Spectrum Overseas Education Consultancy, stated: “We are proud to facilitate this partnership with Griffith University and Study Queensland. Queensland offers far more than just a degree it offers a future. Through this collaboration, Sri Lankan students can access globally recognized qualifications and extended work opportunities. Our mission at Spectrum has always been to empower students to dream beyond borders.”

The event welcomes students, parents, and education professionals, and admission is free. As seating is limited, early registration is strongly encouraged.
