Government to roll out new curricula for Grades 2, 6 next year

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya announced that steps will be taken to introduce new curricula for Grades 2 and 6 starting next year.

The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing the National People’s Power (NPP) Badulla District Women’s Conference on October 18.

Elaborating on the ongoing educational reforms, Dr. Amarasuriya noted that a new curriculum was introduced for Grade 1 this year, with new curricula for Grades 2 and 6 planned for implementation over the next two years. She stated that the current administration has established a modernised education framework designed to secure the future of all children.

According to the Prime Minister, the government’s core objective is to raise a generation capable of facing future challenges with confidence and success, steering away from a system that solely focuses on examinations. (Eduwire)
