The G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) 2025 examination scheduled for today and tomorrow has been postponed due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the resulting disaster situation across the island.
The announcement was issued by the Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Liyanage, through the Government Information Department, requesting all media institutions to inform candidates accordingly.
The Department of Examinations said the decision was taken in the interest of student safety, as heavy rainfall, strong winds and flooding have disrupted transport and normal daily activities in several parts of the country.
Candidates will be notified of the revised dates for the affected examination papers through official announcements in due course, the Commissioner General added.
Authorities have urged students and parents to remain alert and follow future updates released by the Department of Examinations and relevant governmentagencies.
