Foundation Certificate in Higher Education – IT at IIT is extensively designed for students who do not meet the entry criteria for degree programs. If you are required to possess essential knowledge at an undergraduate level, this program can be ideal for you for they offer you the opportunity to develop and improve the relevant skills of Communication, English, Computing and/or Business science you need for today’s competitive world. Upon the completion of the program, you can directly proceed to the 1st year of a degree program.
The programme comes in two parts. Students have to take core modules and choose optional modules. Their Core Modules are Academic Skills in Higher Education, Mathematics for Computing, Digital Skills for Higher Education and Working with Data.
After completing the core modules, you can choose between two specialized pathways.
For Software Engineering / Computer Science Degree Pathways, you can take the following modules.
For AI & Data Science Degree pathways, you can take the following modules.
If you are to complete the program, you will be eligible to pursue a degree program mentioned in the list below.
This foundation program is your academic gateway to key IT-related degrees at IIT. It gives you the potential to build both soft and technical skills critical for your higher education success. and with a solid performance, you will transition smoothly into Year 1 of a full UK-accredited degree, all while studying in Sri Lanka.
