Mr. Wijewardana’s journey in education spans several decades; marked by significant contributions to various institutions. He has previously served as the Principal of Rajapaksa Central College, Weeraketiya, Lumbini College, Colombo 06, and Mahinda College, Galle.
Academic and Professional Credentials
Holding a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Education Management, Mr. Wijewardana’s academic background is both robust and diverse. His qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Management (PGDEM), a National Certificate in Education (NCE) Diploma, a Higher Diploma in Sports Management, and an IT Higher Diploma. This extensive educational foundation equips him with a multifaceted perspective on school administration and pedagogy.

Beyond his roles as a Principal, Mr. Wijewardana has been instrumental in shaping sports education in Sri Lanka. He has served as the Sports Director for both the Southern and Western Provinces and held the position of Sports Director at the Ministry of Education. Balancing his professional endeavours, Mr. Wijewardana is supported by his wife, a dedicated primary school teacher, and their two sons.
