Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Empowers University of Ruhuna Students

A special scholarship programme funded by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka has opened new opportunities for talented students at the University of Ruhuna (UoR). The Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Programme, organized in collaboration with the China–Sri Lanka Joint Center for Education and Research (CSL-CER), aims to encourage academic excellence and strengthen educational ties between the two countries.

This annual initiative supports both undergraduate and postgraduate students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and commitment to their fields of study. According to the University of Ruhuna, the programme reflects China’s continuous support toward Sri Lanka’s higher education and its role in fostering international cooperation.

Applications are open to undergraduate students currently in their first or second years, as well as postgraduate students in their first year of study. Interested candidates can submit their applications through Google Forms made available by the university.
