BLAZE by Imperial College set to ignite the spirit of university sports

Imperial College of Business Studies is continuing its 40th anniversary celebrations by unveiling BLAZE 2025, a “fresh, fierce, and unforgettable” event that symbolizes everything the institution stands for – excellence, unity, and the power of youth.

BLAZE is a celebration of passion, performance, and perseverance that will bring together 25 top universities from across Sri Lanka to create a sporting extravaganza that will span across five days over three weekends, featuring the popular sports ofcricket, rugby, basketball, and football. It is a platform where student-athletes shine, friendships are forged, and university pride reaches new heights. With all matches hosted at iconic sporting venues, BLAZE promises to deliver next-level action and memorable moments for all.

BLAZE kicks off on Saturday, 21st June with the Day 1 of the cricket matches to be held at both the Air Force Grounds and SLDCC Grounds while the final matches will be on Day 2 (22nd June) at the SLDCC Grounds. The following weekend, on 28th June, the rugby battles will take place at the Racecourse Grounds. The third weekend will witness the basketball matches at St. Joseph’s College Courts on 5th July followed by the football matches and the grand finale on 6th July at the Racecourse Grounds.

And with 25 universities in the mix, the competition will undoubtedly be fierce, the energy is unmatched, and the memories priceless!” Imperial College of Business Studies’ rich legacy dates back to 1985. Over the years, the institution has grown from its beginnings as Colombo Business School into one of Sri Lanka’s most respected business schools, known for its academic and professional excellence.
