AOD Brings Creativity to Colombo with Sri Lanka Design Festival 2025

The Academy of Design (AOD) hosted the Sri Lanka Design Festival 2025 in Colombo, turning the city into a vibrant hub of creativity and innovation. The event celebrated Sri Lanka’s design talent and aimed to connect local creators with global opportunities.

This year’s festival focused on using design to support sustainability and economic growth. It featured exhibitions, workshops, and talks by both local and international experts. Designers, students, and industry professionals came together to share ideas and showcase their work.

The event also highlighted how design can help solve real-world problems and promote Sri Lanka’s creative industries on a global stage. AOD emphasized the importance of design in shaping the future and building a strong creative economy.

At SLDF 2025, creativity will fill every corner of Colombo, from the fronts of cafés and boutique displays to art galleries, murals, and live studio spaces. Visitors will have the chance to meet creators, explore diverse perspectives, and see the city transformed into a dynamic canvas. The festival embraces inclusivity and innovation, showcasing Sri Lankan talent with a global outlook. SLDF highlights that education is more than just learning skills, it’s about turning ideas into ventures, transforming places into immersive experiences, and using creativity to reshape urban spaces and bring people together.
