DS Senanayake College in Colombo has introduced a mobile app named ‘MyDS’ to connect the school, students and parents into a unified system.
The mobile app has been introduced as part of the school’s digitalisation programme, making it the first school in the country to launch such an innovative mobile app.
According to College Principal Sampath Weragoda, the mobile app, initially implemented as a pilot project, has been introduced for the grade 1,2, 8 and 9 students.
Weragoda further said that each student will be provided with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card free of charge, after which parents will receive instant notifications regarding their children’s attendance as soon as they enter school.
This mobile app has been launched with the approval of the School Development Committee (SDC) and under the permission of the Ministry of Education.
