R. T. Pandithasekara of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, has achieved national recognition by securing First Place in the General Poster Category at the IUPHAR World Smart Medication Day Poster Competition, organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (SLACPT).

Her award-winning poster, “Sex Differences in Clinical Pharmacology,” was adjudged the finest entry in the General Poster Category following evaluation by a distinguished five-member panel comprising members of pharmacology departments representing medical faculties across Sri Lanka.

Held as Sri Lanka’s national competition in parallel with the 2025 IUPHAR Student Poster Competition, the event brought together undergraduate students in medicine, pharmacy and pharmacology from across the country under the internationally recognised theme, “Sex/Gender Differences in Clinical Pharmacology.” 

In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, Ms. Pandithasekara’s winning poster has been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the IUPHAR International Student Poster Competition, where it will stand alongside submissions from around the world in celebration of World Smart Medication Day. The selection elevates her achievement beyond the national stage, underscoring both the international relevance of her work and the high standard of academic excellence it represents.
