The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) has invited school students across the country to participate in a cartoon drawing competition, aiming to spark interest in wildlife and conservation issues through creative expression.
Under the initiative, pupils are encouraged to submit original cartoon artwork that reflects themes related to wildlife, nature protection, and environmental stewardship. The competition is open to various age groups, and students can showcase their artistic talents while learning about the importance of preserving Sri Lanka’s rich biodiversity.
Students who wish to participate in the workshop are required to complete the application form issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) and submit it via email to wildlifeday2026@gmail.com on or before December 31. Applications may also be sent by registered post to:
Cartoon Art Workshop, Publicity Unit, Department of Wildlife Conservation, No. 811/A, Jayanthipura Road, Battaramulla.
The DWC will announce the date, time and venue of the workshop through its official website and Facebook page.
Winners of the contest will receive recognition and prizes, with details on categories and submission guidelines available through the department’s official channels. The cartoon competition aligns with broader efforts by the department to promote wildlife awareness among younger generations, fostering a culture of respect and care for the natural world from an early age.
