
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced that applications are now open for the prestigious UK Commonwealth Scholarships for Sri Lankan students, offering opportunities for postgraduate studies in 2026. These scholarships provide talented students with the chance to pursue studies in leading UK universities, strengthening their skills and expertise in fields critical to national and global development.
These scholarships are offered for both Master’s and PhD programmes, with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) requesting nominations for 9 Master’s and 6 PhD candidates from Sri Lanka.
Applicants must choose one of the following six development themes:
1. Science and Technology for Development
2. Improving Population Health, Health Systems, and Capacity
3. Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship
4. Strengthening Peace, Security, and Governance
5. Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises
6. Access, Inclusion, and Opportunity
