G.C.E. A/L Examination 2024 – How to Apply for Re-scrutiny of Results

If you’re a student or parent looking to apply for G.C.E. A/L Re-scrutiny of Results 2024, here is everything you need to know, including step-by-step instructions on how to apply online for both school and private candidates.

What is Re-scrutiny of Results?

Re-scrutiny means re-checking your A/L exam papers to ensure that all sections were marked correctly and the total was calculated properly. This is especially important if you believe there may be an error in your results.

Application Period

  • Applications will be accepted from 2nd May 2025 to 16th May 2025.

Make sure to apply within this period late applications will not be accepted.

Step by Step Guide to Apply for A/L Re-scrutiny Online

Step 1: Online Only

All applications must be submitted online onlynot by hand or post.

Step 2: Who Can Apply?

Both school candidates and private candidates must submit the applications by themselves.

Step 3: Application Dates

Applications will be received from 02.05.2025 to 16.05.2025. Be sure to apply within this time frame.

Step 4: How to Apply

You can apply through any of the following 3 methods:

  1. Visit the official website: https://doenets.lk Click on “Exam Information Centre” under “Our Services”
  2. Use the DOE official mobile app Go to “Exam Information Centre” on the app
  3. Visit: https://onlineexams.gov.lk/eic

Step 5: Log In with Existing Details

If you already have a profile, log in using your:

  • Index Number
  • National Identity Card (NIC) number

If you are not registered, use your NIC number and contact number to create a profile.

Step 6: Read Instructions Carefully

Before you apply, read the technical instructions, common guidelines, and watch the demo video available online. This helps avoid mistakes in your application.

Step 7: Payment Information

  • Rs. 250/- per subject
  • Can be paid using:
    • Credit or Debit Card
    • Post Office

Step 8: Application PDF and SMS Alert

After payment:

  • You will receive a PDF copy of your application.
  • Keep it safe.
  • You’ll also get a confirmation SMS to your mobile.

Step 9: Be Accurate!

  • Ensure all information is correctly filled.
  • All subjects you want to re-scrutinize must be included.
  • Applications without payment will be rejected.
  • No refunds will be given.

Step 10: Who Else Can Apply?

Students who did not qualify for university due to getting less than 30 marks in the Common General Test (Subject No. 12) can also apply for re-scrutiny of that subject.
